AGO's senior residences offer living facilities as well as nursing and care services specifically aimed to provide safe conditions for a satisfied life in old age, taking into account the changes associated with moving from an accustomed living environment to a new, assisted-living environment. This may be for a limited period of time in the context of short-term care or for a long-term stay. Communication and communal activities are key elements of an individual living style in combination with full-time supervision.

The AGO Senior Centre is located in the centre of the municipality of Kreischa, which has about 4,000 inhabitants. Famous as a summer retreat and climatic spa, Kreischa is situated in the Lockwitztal valley surrounded by vineyards and only about 15 km to the south of the regional capital Dresden. The grounds are adjacent to the western side of 200-year-old spa gardens. The design and positioning of the architecturally attractive building calls to mind the fact that the grounds were formerly a feudal estate. A close integration in the infrastructure of the municipality is achieved by the immediate neighbourhood of residential and commercial buildings with facilities for everyday needs, cafés, a discounter, the mayor's office and village church.

The object is a 4-storey longitudinal building without a basement level and an extension on the park side, completed in October 2010. The building comprises 2 storeys proper, 1 attic floor with large bay windows as a storey proper as well as 1 converted attic floor. The solid brick structure with a gable roof was constructed as an energy efficiency house in compliance with KfW (Reconstruction Credit Institute) standard 55. A maximum of 84 residents are looked after in five living areas with own common rooms on three storeys. The ground floor accommodates a hairdresser, a fully equipped kitchen designed to cater for about 120 persons, and a café with direct access to the centre's own dementia garden and large spa park. The structures form an attractive ensemble in a pleasant environment.
